Controlled Machining for Reliable Performance
Restoring Sealing Surfaces with Controlled Engineering Accuracy
Machining is carried out using CNC-controlled equipment to restore seating faces, valve bores, and cooling water surfaces with high dimensional accuracy. Each stage is planned to protect dimensional integrity while preparing the component for reliable long-term operation.
Before repair work begins, cylinder covers are thoroughly cleaned using grit blasting or ultrasonic and chemical processes. This preparation ensures that inspection results are dependable and that every subsequent step is based on a clear understanding of the component condition. Machining is carried out using CNC-controlled equipment to accurately restore seating faces, valve bores, and cooling water spaces. Each stage is planned to protect dimensional integrity while preparing the component for reliable long-term operation.

Core workflow checkpoints
01
Detailed pre-inspection with dimensional measurement and crack detection.
02
Formal inspection report and quotation prepared to approved standards.
03
Pre-machining of seating faces, bores, and contact surfaces for alignment.
04
Welding, annealing, and surface renewal to enhance durability and wear resistance.
Reconditioning Workflow
Our Reconditioning Process
Each stage is structured to verify condition, rebuild critical surfaces, and return the component with performance-oriented finishing and documented repair discipline.
All components are cleaned using grit blasting or ultrasonic and chemical processes. Dimensional measurements are taken and dye penetrant testing is performed to detect cracks before repair planning begins.
02
Pre-machining
Critical surfaces, including valve seat bores, cooling water faces, and stud threads, are pre-machined to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity before further processing.
03
Welding & Heat Treatment
Welding follows approved industry standards using submerged arc and MIG/TIG methods. Controlled annealing then relieves internal stresses and supports component durability.
04
Final machining
Seating and sealing surfaces are final-machined to precise tolerances. Final dimensional checks and pressure testing confirm the cylinder cover is ready for return to service.
Workshop Visuals
Inside the Reconditioning Environment
Visuals help communicate the technical setting behind the process, from machining and welding to inspection discipline and finishing quality.
Partial Reconditioning
The newer type of covers can develop cracks in the fuel injector pockets and experience corrosion or wear in the O-ring grooves, as well as the sealing face where it meets the exhaust valve seat. These issues can be addressed through partial reconditioning, offering a cost-effective way to restore the covers to excellent condition.
Complete Reconditioning
In case partial repair is not possible due to cracks in the combustion face, the cover is completely reconditioned. During this process the entire combustion surface is removed, welded, fully heat-treated, rebored and finally machined.
Engineering Techniques
Methods Used Across the Restoration Cycle
The page combines technical clarity with the same editorial layout language used across the current site, keeping service pages visually consistent while still detail-rich.
Submerged Arc Welding
Automatic submerged arc welding is used in accordance with approved procedures to rebuild surfaces with repeatable quality and sound structural performance.
MIG/TIG Welding
Automatic and manual MIG/TIG welding methods are applied where precision restoration and controlled material build-up are required.
Seating Face Accuracy
CNC-controlled machining restores contact and sealing faces with close attention to dimensional consistency and functional alignment.
Pressure Testing
Completed covers are hydraulically pressure-tested to verify cooling water space integrity before return to service.
